LA RICERCA PITTORICA DI ADRIANO VELUSSI
L’impatto che si ha davanti alle opere di Adriano Velussi è di profondo straniamento, come se un senso di alienazione e di inquietudine ci percorresse l’animo. La sua è una pittura astratta che suggestiona chi la guarda. L’atmosfera che si respira in ogni opera di questo artista è carica di ambiguità e di mistero. Questa sensazione è ottenuta dagli accostamenti tra di loro dei vari elementi dell’opera tendendo ad una significazione celata. La realtà che il pittore ci presenta è volutamente deformata e reinventata attraverso curiose associazioni e assemblaggi che danno vita ad intriganti figure. Nei suoi lavori si coglie una visione del mondo enigmatica e surreale attraverso uno stile pittorico-cromatico penetrante e luminoso. Gli elementi rappresentati da Velussi si caricano di un simbolismo originale che contiene in sé caratteri fantascientifici e metafisici. Questi si rintracciano soprattutto in quelle opere in cui l’artista dà vita ad una specie di uomo bionico in cui le parti umane sono sempre meno evidenziate e solo dopo un’attenta osservazione diventano individuabili. E’ come se l’uomo si trasformasse, come se mutasse il suo essere per elevarsi verso l’alto, verso un’entità superiore. E’ l’elemento sferico, il cerchio, che si ripete nella maggior parte delle tele e che sta a significare una vicinanza all’assoluto e al divino. L’uomo, divenuto centro dell’opera, tende con forza e volontà alla realizzazione di un mondo migliore, attraverso una ricerca continua della perfezione che alla fine risulta vana. Nonostante il vivere, il pensare, l’apparire, il volere o l’essere, “l’uomo, come diceva Nietzsche, nient’altro è che qualcosa di imperfetto che non può essere mai compiuto.” Ed è in questo pensiero che si ritrova la vera essenza pittorica e il profondo conflitto interiore dell’artista.

BETWEEN DREAMLIKE AND REAL
In front of Adriano Velussi’s works you first experience a deep estrangement, a sort of alienation and anxiety that goes through your soul. His abstract painting strikes you, the observer, and the atmosphere you breathe in every work of this artist is charged with ambiguity and mystery. This sensation is obtained by uniting together several elements of the work that tend to a concealed meaning. The reality which the painter presents to us is intentionally distorted and re-invented through odd associations and assembled images that give life to intriguing figures. In his works you can gather an enigmatical and surreal outlook on the world by means of a perceptive and luminous chromatic-pictorial style. The elements represented by Velussi overburden themselves with an original symbolism that contains science-fiction and metaphysical characteristics. These features can be traced mainly in those works where the artist creates a sort of bionic man whose human parts are less and less highlighted and become identifiable only after a careful observation. It is as if man transformed himself, if he changed his being to raise himself towards heaven, towards a superior being. It is the spherical element, the circle, that repeats itself in most paintings and wants to indicate an extreme closeness to the Absolute and the Divine. Man has become the centre of the work and tends with strength and will to accomplish a better world through the continuous research of perfection without ever succeeding. Notwithstanding his living, thinking, appearing, willing or being, “man, as Nietzsche would say, is nothing else than something imperfect that can never be accomplished.” In this thought you can find the true pictorial essence and the deep interior conflict of the artist.
