La forza della contemporaneità
Forte ed esaustiva la contemporaneità nelle opere di Dario Cusani. Colpisce nel segno l’attenzione al sociale e ai grandi problemi che da sempre ruotano intorno all’uomo e al suo vivere il quotidiano, ma non solo, perché di fronte ai soggetti rappresentati la sensibilità di ognuno viene toccata nell’intimo. I suoi lavori sono veri atti di denuncia. Denunce fatte con immagini forti che si fondono in spazi temporali precisi, suscitano emozioni, scatenano affetti e costituiscono una vera e propria ricerca interiore che esprime grande sensibilità e attenzione ai temi che da sempre abbracciano un interesse universale. Spesso sulle tele Cusani rielabora gli attuali eventi di cronaca attraverso un particolare metodo pittorico. L’artista utilizza la macchina fotografica attraverso la quale immortala le immagini che poi frammenta e ricostruisce. I vari tasselli vengono ricomposti dando vita ad un’opera che ripercorre le sensazioni e i ricordi vissuti dall’artista. In altri casi la pittura di Cusani diventa unione tra realtà e fantasia. Le fotografie assumono il ruolo di testimoni dello stato reale del vivere mentre la pittura diviene intervento onirico che lascia spazio all’immaginazione. A volte i protagonisti dei brani pittorici rappresentano personaggi noti del tempo remoto o di quello più recente. Vengono rappresentati in contesti che possono apparire incongruenti, ma che rivelano quanto l’attualità può interagire con il passato. Le immagini incarnano il compimento ultimo dei comportamenti tenuti dai potenti con le relative conseguenze che spesso si rivelano spaventose.

The Strength of Contemporaneity
In Dario Cusani’s works there is a strong and exhaustive contemporaneity. His attention towards human beings and the social problems that have been always impending over man and his daily life is very evident: in front of the painter’s representations everybody’s sensitiveness is deeply touched. Cusani’s works are true acts of accusation: strong images that melt in precise temporal spaces, stir up emotions, rouse affections and constitute a true interior research which expresses a great sensibility and attention to themes that have always represented a universal interest. In his paintings this artist often revises actual news events through a special pictorial method. Using his camera, he immortalizes the images that are later fragmented and rebuilt. The various pieces are then reassembled and thus give birth to a work that goes along the sensations and memories lived by the artist. In other cases Cusani’s painting becomes like a connection between reality and imagination. Photos assume the role of witnesses of the real situation of living while painting becomes an oneiric activity that leaves space to imagination. Sometimes the characters of the paintings represent well-known figures of old or more recent times and are represented in contexts that may appear inconsistent, but actually reveal how much our present life can interact with the past. His images embody the final accomplishment of the behaviour of powerful figures with the relative consequences that often reveal themselves as dreadful.
